A FUNDRAISING event with a difference could raise more than £3,000 for a Huddersfield charity.The Great Northern Sled Dog Walk over the Humber Bridge proved a big success.More than 40 people – and even more huskies and similar breeds – took part in the five-mile fundraiser which involved crossing the Humber Bridge twice.Organised by mum-of-two Faye Bailey, the walk is set to raise more than £3,000 for Ruddi’s Retreat.The charity offers holidays to families with youngsters fighting cancer or other long-term illnesses.The charity was set up by Ali Jones of Linthwaite, whose son Ruddi, pictured inset, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer as a baby.The charity has a holiday caravan at Primrose Valley.Faye, 36, who has a daughter Shania, 12, and a son Oliver, nine, has suffered serious health problems for many years.Read more here: http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/local-west-yorkshire-news/2013/01/25/sled-dog-walk-raises-3-000-for-huddersfield-charity-86081-32674063/
