Things are quiet in Braeburn. It’s been more than a day since leaders of the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race sat in corners of the lodge, strategizing with handlers over their next fast moves. Spectators crowded the restaurant, nibbling on giant cinnamon buns the size of a coffee pot, before rushing out to watch the first mushers leave after their scheduled eight-hour layover.Now only a few teams are making their way through the last checkpoint before Whitehorse.
