Winter Dog Race Returns To Chemult

Saturday marked the first day of the 19th Annual Chemult Sled Dog Races. Mushers followed packs of eight, six and four dogs on sleds while skiers were tugged by one or two dogs for the Skijor event.As the temperature rose, some in the crowd funneled the dogs out of the starting chute while others tried to snap a couple pictures.“This weather is great,” said Sharon Carpenter, who won the six-dog mid-distance race and finished second in the four-dog sprint Saturday. “Last year there wasn’t snow and two years ago it rained the whole time.”Read more here: http://www.heraldandnews.com/members/news/frontpage/article_71eef260-62d3-11e2-8c09-0019bb2963f4.html
