Robillard, Portalatin Take First in Eagle Lake Sled Dog Races

The cold weather of last week broke on Saturday, Jan. 19, just in time for the Irving Woodlands Eagle Lake 100 and Mad Bomber Eagle Lake 30 sled dog races in Eagle Lake. Twenty-one mushers and their teams took to the northern Maine woods, as hundreds of spectators came out to support the racers and the sport. Martin Massicotte of Quebec finished the 100-mile race in second place this year, crossing the finish line in Eagle Lake with a time of 7:24.50. Massicotte finished just two minutes behind Sylvain Robillard of Quebec, who took the first-place crown with a time of 7:23.04. Andre Longchamps of Quebec came in third place with a time of 7:35.18.
