Swingley wins Seeley Lake 200

Dough Swingley, of Montana, narrowly beat Jacques Philip, of Fairbanks, AK in the Seeley Lake 200, in Seeley, Montana. Swingley finished the race in 28 hours 44 minutes, while Philip was hot on his tail with a total time of 28:45. Melanie Shirilla, of Montana, placed third (29:49) – an hour behind Philip , followed by Magali Philip, Fairbanks, AK, who trailed by just under an hour (30:46).Jason Barron, of Montana, won the Seeley Lake 300 race in a time of 43 hours, 8 minutes. Melanie Shirilla placed second with a time of 44 hours and 17 minutes.Both the Seeley Lake 200 and Seeley Lake 300 are Iditarod qualifying races, and both races start and end in Seeley Lake. The Seeley Lake races travel through the Seeley-Swan valley. The races are designed to be musher friendly with minimal pre and post race requirements.
