Buddy Streeper leads the first day of the Noorvik Spring Carnival. Streeper ran the 17.8 miles in 62:38, with Bill Kornmuller of Willow, AK finishing a close second (62:47), followed by Cyrus Harris (67:18), John Gallahorn (70:39) and Luke Sampson ronding out the field in a time of 73:20. The open class trail was soft in spots, and ran for long sections over slick glare ice. Running in village races is always an experience, and while the trails may not be world class, they attract world class competition.
