People Can Meet ‘Sky’ Sled Dogs Racing Saturday North of Butte

People will get a chance to meet sled dogs and their mushers Saturday in Elk Park, 15 miles north of Butte, as part of the annual Race to the Sky.Event spokesperson Pam Beckstrom said six racing teams are expected to arrive at Elk Park for the “vet check” from 3 to 4 p.m. The dogs will be examined by veterinarians as part of the 100-mile race in the adult and junior divisions.Between around 4 and 9 p.m., the 350-mile teams are expected to arrive, finishing the first leg of the longer race.
