Over 100 People To Take Part In Zavirukha 2013 Sled Dog Race

A record high number of domestic and foreign participants will take part in the annual sled dog race Zavirukha 2013 that will be held in Raubichi near Minsk on 26-27 January, BelTA learned from one of the organizers of the race, Chairperson of the Belarusian Club of Northern Sled Dogs Olga Vedeneyeva. The first competition was held in 2011. Back then only 17 sportsmen took part in the event. A year later the number of participants increased to 34 people. In 2013 over 100 people from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine and Poland submitted their applications to participate. Olga Vedeneyeva pointed to the diverse composition of the participants. Besides traditional sled dogs, taking part in the race will be non-race breeds, like Dobermans.
