Anchorage, Alaska – Monday, February 27, 2012 – In partnership with the Millennium Hotel, Northwood ABC 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be “Mushing to the Millennium.” School officials would like to cordially invite parents, friends and neighbors to line the street on the Spenard end of Aspen Drive, and meet us at the Hotel. Master sled builder, Bernie Willis is lending them several dogsleds, and teams of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are going to pull the towlines as they make their way to the hotel to sing Iditarod songs for the guests and Iditarod committee members. Each class will be pulling a “Celebrity Rider.” They will leave Northwood at around 1:15 pm and arrive at the Millennium about 1:40-1:50. The students will sing several songs, enjoy the displays, and then make the return trip to Northwood. The Anchorage Police Department will provide a safe crossing on Spenard Road.
