Mansfield musher Matthew Failor began his 1,049-mile trek across the Alaska wilderness to Nome with 66 other Iditarod teams Sunday.The son of Tim and Cheryl Failor, and a 2000 graduate of Mansfield St Peter’s started his run with an official re-start in Willow, Alaksa, after Saturday’s ceremonial start in Anchorage.Failor is running one of four-time Iditarod champion Martin Buser’s dog teams, whom he has trained with for two years. The 16 dogs pulling Failor to Nome are less than 2 years old.
