Laura Daugereau Wins Long ECX Sled Dog Race

Laura Daugereau, #3, of Port Gamble, Wash., finished at 6:36 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, as winner of the long Eagle Cap Extreme sled dog race, which was reduced from 200 to 150 miles because of weather/trail safety conditions. She completed the course in 29 hours, 33 minutes.Daugereau is the first female musher to win the ECX 200-mile race in its nine year history.Daugereau competed in the ECX 200-miler last year with a team of pups, and this year returned with her “A-team.”Placing 2nd in the race was Jillian Taylor of Red Deer Alberta, who crossed the finish line at Ferguson Ridge Ski area at 9:15 p.m. Friday; 3rd, Josi Thyr of Cataldo, Idaho, 9:34 p.m.; and 4th , Karen Ramsden, of Perryvale, Alberta, 11:23 p.m.Read more here:
