IPSSSDR offers $500 Gas Stipend, and pays out cash in musher support program Four Ways to Win Cash:Musher Support Program ($80,000 in winnings)Gas Stipend $500Day MoneyOverall Earnings Jackson, Wyoming—August 24, 2008—The 2009 International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR), has announced that it is cutting the field from 30 teams to 20 teams. In addition, the race has announced four ways that teams can earn money. The IPSSSDR will pay $500 gas voucher to every team registered and who departs from the Jackson starting line—the voucher is provided by race sponsor Pedigree for Dogs. “We recognize that high fuel costs hit mushers hard,” says Race Director Frank Teasley. “We want to do what we can to help mushers get to Wyoming for the race.” In addition to the gas stipend, Teasley announced that the musher support program has changed. Mushers who are officially registered in the musher support program can win cash earnings—instead of pet food prizes– in 2009. Mushers will also be competing for over $80,000 in overall and day money.
