Iditarod Field Mostly Set, but Notable Names Missing from 42nd Race

There are fewer than 90 days remaining before mushers line up in downtown Anchorage to signal the start of the 42nd Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, and some mushers are already sizing up their competition.Friday was the last day to sign up for the 2014 race. So far, 72 mushers have put their names down to run the 1,000-mile race, which will take mushers from the official start in Willow to the coastal community of Nome over the course of roughly nine days.While a few more entries could trickle in, few — if any — are expected, according to Iditarod Executive Director Stan Hooley.Read more here:
