The Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Association, the sponsors and organizers of the Gold Rush Trail Sled Dog Mail Run which has been staged between Quesnel and Wells/Barkerville British Columbia for the past 20 years, wishes to announce that the Mail Run will not be taking place in January of 2013. President Warren Palfrey stated that “the Association regrets having to make this decision but it became evident during early planning meetings that the volunteer leadership and energy that is so necessary to make this event happen is just not available. We feel that it is important that we make this announcement at this time, as we know that there are dog mushers and spectators from across Canada and the U.S. who have indicated that they would be interested in taking part in the 2013 event”. The Association will continue to stage local club events throughout the year and information will be posted on the club website.
