Ten skijorers and 27 sled dog teams turned out for Sunday’s balmy Alaska Dog Mushers Association Challenge Series event at the Jeff Studdert Racegrounds.The 8/10-dog class drew the most entrants with nine teams competing. Jason Dunlap won the event with a 10-dog team completing the 11-mile trail in 36 mnutes, 40 seconds. Carl Erhart took the runner-up spot in 38:02.Salcha veterinarian Arleigh Reynolds tuned up for the championship season by winning the Open class. He ran a 14-dog team around the 16.4-mile loop in 52:05.Ami Gjestson won the six-dog class (8 miles) in 25:06 and Dawn Brown won the four-dog (6.2 miles) in 22:47.Rebecca Knight edged Greg Jurek in skijoring.
