The front pack of the Kuskokwim 300 could be mistaken for the Iditarod. The 1000-mile champion, Martin Buser is leading the field into Tuluksak, on the return trail to Bethel. Close behind Buser is 4-time Iditarod champion Jeff King, just 21 minutes behind. A 2 hour gap separates the front two from third place musher, John Little. In the Knik 200, John Little was leading the race and after a wrong turn just miles from the finish, Jeff King nabbed the race. John Little is staying close by, perhaps waiting for King to make a similar mistake.Rohn Buser, Ed Iten, and Hugh Neff make the top six mushers within three hours of the leader. With just 48 miles to the finish, this is still anyone’s race.
