Marley
Breed: Alaskan Husky
Birthdate: 03/17/2021
Position: Wheel
Marley is from the Rock-N-Roll Crew litter and was named after the legendary Bob Marley—fitting, because this boy was born with soul and a whole lot of confidence. From the moment he opened his eyes, Marley stood out as a strong and self-assured pup, ready to take on the world (or at least the sled trail).
Marley runs in wheel, the powerhouse position at the back of the team. While he’s smart, motivated, and has dabbled in leading the team up front, his impressive 80-pound frame makes him a better fit for muscling the sled through tough terrain. He’s a natural puller and thrives on the run—ears back, eyes focused, and energy dialed in.
Despite his size and strength, Marley has a goofy, gentle side, especially when it comes to Nicole, his favorite human. He tolerates sunglasses, silly hats, and obedience games just to make her happy—sometimes even when he’d rather pretend he can’t hear her. (He hears. He just…chooses.)
In the off-season, Marley can usually be found lounging in the shade next to his sister, keeping a watchful eye on the kennel. If a visitor dares approach, Marley is quick with an alert bark and a tail wag—protective but polite.
Winter brings out his inner prankster. One of his favorite activities? Surprising our Mushing 101 students with giant “Marley hugs”—full-body, snow-covered tackles that are equal parts love and chaos.
Whether he’s working hard on the team or goofing off with his people, Marley brings strength, spirit, and a whole lot of heart to the crew.
