Anchorage Mushing District
June 2025: Historic Milestone for Downtown Anchorage!
We’re thrilled to announce that Watterson Construction has officially signed the contract to begin building the Anchorage Mushing District Arch on 4th Avenue! The public signing ceremony took place June 19 at the future site of the arch—northeast corner of 4th & D Street.
This marks the launch of Phase 1 construction, which includes site work and structural fabrication. Once complete, the arch will serve as a powerful tribute to Alaska’s sled dog heritage and a dynamic gateway into downtown Anchorage
