Michele: The coverage of the Iditarod is back and on a brand-new podcast, The Burled Arch brought to you by Mushing and First Paw Media.  If you need help breaking down all things in the world of the Iditarod, this is show for you? The Burled Arch, presented by Mushing. Join host Robert Forto and his team as they offer insight analysis and plenty of commentary throughout the race and beyond. If you are a fan of all the action and excitement that the Iditarod brings, this daily coverage of the race is the podcast for you.

Michele: Robert and his team will give you everything you need to get ready for the race. We will start our daily coverage the night of the banquet. We will give our predictions the day before the ceremonial start. We will be broadcasting live from the ceremonial start and the re-start and begin our nightly coverage. Before we jump in to tell you more, make sure you follow The Burled Arch wherever you get your podcasts.

So, Robert what’s the deal with The Burled Arch?

Robert: Here’s what we do—We podcast year around talking about all things Mushing on our flagship podcast but for two weeks in March we concentrate solely on the Iditarod. We not only preview the race and recap each night, but we also try to make our fans as much as part of the show as we can.

And this year, we’re doing some things that are a little bit different. We’re opening a voicemail line where fans can leave messages and ask us questions.

Michele: So, every day we’ll respond to your questions, cover breaking news of the day, do a musher  profile and compress all of that into a tidy package that you can get right here on the Burled Arch feed. Not only will you learn about the race, but also how fans are responding to it over the course of those two weeks.

We have been doing this show for almost 12 years and I can’t even believe all has happened in that span of time. We’ve seen a lot of rule changes, equipment changes, a doping scandal.

The start moving to Fairbanks not once but twice, drunk individual attacking two of the leading mushers, disqualifications of veteran mushers being rejected from the race, speed records falling, and the crowning of both the youngest ever and the oldest ever Iditarod champion, we have seen the dynasties of the Seavey’s, we have seen a changing of the guard in Iditarod, we have seen the Iditarod develop in a major way on social media.

We’ve done live shows, we’ve done shows from the trail and at the restart. We’ve even traveled to some of the checkpoints including Nome, what we are trying to say is if you’re an Iditarod fan you should check out our daily coverage of the race right here on The Burled Arch, subscribe now and become part of the weird Iditarod universe.

Oh, and one more thing before we close, we are the new owners of Mushing Magazine and it is our goal to take this thing to a whole new level. We plan on a bunch of behind-the-scenes coverage, and a cool new show that we are calling, The 24-hours of Iditarod that we will film and record in Nome.

Robert: What we are saying is there I nothing like our coverage of the race. We are seasoned veterans at this in the podcast space and we look forward to many more years to come. The burled arch is available everywhere you get your podcast. Be sure to follow and subscribe today so in March you will never miss an episode.
