Wyoming Stage Race Day five – Davis Wins Day Five, Keeps Overall Lead

Wendy Davis from Lander, Wyoming, had the fastest time on Day Five of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR) completing the 57-mile course on the Greys River Trail in 3:45:50. Sam Perrino from Yellowknife , Northwest Territories , Canada , was second with a time of 3:52:04. In third place, Jacques Philip from Nenana , Alaska , posted a time of 3:53:05.In overall standings, Davis keeps the lead with 16:14:42. Philip is second with 17:16:50; and Grant Beck from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada, is third with 17:21:14.Teams departed from Alpine and averaged speeds ranging from 10.3 to 14.3 miles per hour. Following Wednesday’s race, teams traveled to Kemmerer/Diamondville where they will depart from the Lake Viva Naughton starting line on Thursday, February 1 at 9:00 a.m.
