A good snowpack and fast trails will greet more than 30 mushers this weekend in Ely as the WolfTrack Classic Sled Dog Race returns to the Northland. It’s back after an unplanned hiatus because of last winter’s mild weather and sparse snow cover.And officials with the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon say trails up the North Shore are looking good for the scheduled March 10 start of that race, which was postponed from its usual January start date for lack of snow — after being canceled last winter.The past few weeks have seen several storm systems drop steady snowfall across the Northland.
