Speedy Canadian Musher Wins Race To The Sky

Warren Palfrey of Quesnel, British Columbia has crossed the finish line at Hi-Country Snack Foods near Lincoln at 2:27 p.m. with a team of 12 dogs. to win the 2012 Race to the Sky Sled Dog Race.Race secretary Pam Beckstrom said Palfrey’s time of 48 hours, 9 minutes was one of the earliest finishes in the history of the race if not a record.About 90 minutes behind Palfrey was Laura Daugereau of Port Gamble, Wash., who left the Seeley Lake Checkpoint at 5:46 a.m. Tuesday for the finish line with 10 dogs.
