FAIRBANKS — Participants and spectators at Alaska Dog Musher’s Association races on Farmers Loop will have a place to warm up this season. The Musher’s Hall, which was shuttered for the winter season last year because of high winter upkeep costs, will remain open this winter, according to ADMA board member Casey Thompson. As in past years, the hall will again be available for groups that want to use it for parties or meetings, and for dog sled races. The ADMA board met last week and voted unanimously to keep the log building open, Thompson said.“There’s been very little ongoing revenue when you’re talking about paying five or six thousand dollars a year in heating costs,” he said. “But we’re hoping we’ll rent it a little bit. We’ve done pretty well this summer covering the expenses by renting it and hopefully we can keep that up this winter.”People who are interested in renting the hall can call Somers and Associates at 456-7653.
