Registration for the 2013 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race closed Friday night. Sixty-eight mushers have signed up to compete so far, four of them from the Y-K Delta.The local teams are the father-son duo from Akiak, Mike Williams Sr. and Jr. Also, Pete Kaiser of Bethel and Richie Diehl of Aniak. Three of them are Iditarod veterans: Pete Kaiser finished 5th place last year, Mike Williams Jr. finished 8th last year, and Mike Williams Sr. will be running his 15th race.
