Cookie Decorating, Skiing, Dog Sled Races & More At Colton Winterfest

The 2013 Colton Winterfest is just around the corner, with highlights to include foot and bed races, skiing, dog sled races and sleigh rides, snowshoeing and cookie decorating.While the Winterfest technically begins Friday, Jan. 25 with an art tour and concert, the festival will really get underway Saturday with a 10 mile foot race, the quilt show, snowshoeing and skiing, “family day” at Highley Flow State Park, bed races and cookie decorating.The quilt show, snowshoeing and skiing will continue Sunday, along with the Higley Hustle Cross-Country Ski Race, dog sled rides and sleigh rides.Earlier events include an art display made up of murals around town, including at Hepburn Library and the Swift Field Pavillion, and the stained glass at Mason’s High Falls Lodge, which begins Friday.
