Jake Berkowitz and Brent Sass were leading the field Sunday night as the Copper Basin 300 sled dog race headed into the home stretch.Berkowitz left the Sourdough checkpoint 100 miles from the finish line at 7:38 p.m. Sunday, 14 minutes ahead of Sass. Gerry Willomitzer checked at 8:15 p.m.As of 11 p.m., they were the only mushers out of the checkpoint, however it was likely more were on the trail.
