Tonight, during the 2007 Fur Rondy in Anchorage, another celebration will be taking place. George Attla will be honored for his achievements in sled dog racing, making his feat of dominating his sport for 35 years legendary, with a record 10 Rondy titles.Attla recently won a 2-day 12.5 mile 12-dog race in Huslia, at the ripe age of 74. Asked if he would ride the runners in a 6-dog race during the Rondy, Attla said that he could do it at home, why do it on the street again.The Fur Rondy starts today with the start of the race and the festival kicking off at 12-noon.
