Fifteen of the fastest sled dog teams in the world will hit the trail in the 68th running of the GCI Open North American Sled Dog Championships this weekend in downtown Fairbanks.Tanana’s John Erhart will lead teams out of the starting chute at 1 p.m. Friday on Second Avenue between Cushman and Lacey streets.Racing will continue at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.Mushers will travel 20 miles the first two days of the race and 27.6 miles Sunday.Read more here: http://www.newsminer.com/sports/local_community/article_77d0ce6e-8c7d-11e2-a341-0019bb30f31a.html
