Anderson Runs Through Checkpoint, Grabs Lead

  • February 18, 2008
  • Editor and/or Contributors

Deciding not to stay and rest at the Stepping Stone checkpoint, Ken Anderson and his team of 11 dogs move forward and into the lead. Mackey, who arrived at the checkpoint almost 4.5 hrs ahead of Anderson, elected to stop there and rest. Anderson obviously rested on the trail, but by not resting in the checkpoint, he keeps everyone guessing as to how fast his dogs are actually covering ground. The 2008 Quest is shaping up to be a first class chess match indeed. For an excellent account of the race from the ground and air, check out Ken Anderson and Gwenn Holdmann’s website at: www.windycreekkennel.comMore news, photos and audio reports: http://www.kuac.org/08yukon.html www.newsminer.comAnother excellent blog from fans on the ground in the Yukon:http://www.northernlightmedia.com/journal/
