Rosemary W. Losonsky passed away

Rosemary W. Losonsky, a former Fur Rondy Champion, passed away quietly at her home Feb. 12, 2007.Rosie was born in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 20, 1929. Arriving in Alaska in 1948, Rosie fell in love with the Alaskan winters. Introduced to mushing by Jeff Studdert and Mike Agbaba, she soon had a kennel of her own. Rosie won four Women’s North American Championship races (1957, 1959, 1966, 1968), the FurRendezvous (1957). Rosie retired from racing in the early ’80s.
